CREATIVE FREEDOM

What is your project?

BARRIERS TO CREATIVITY:

  • Fear of failure
  • Overthinking
  • Time pressure.
  • Fixed mindset
  • Negative emotions
  • Environment
  • Absence of ideas
  • Self Perception

These are some of the barriers people experience to creativity. The fact is we are ALL creative, generally what happens is we build barriers to our creative selves – to our “free child.”

CREATIVE FREEDOM is our philosophy. When we engage our creativity, we become more adaptive, more resilient, more engaged and more productive in our day to day lives. Creativity provides meaning, health, mindful action, purpose and happiness.

Creativity is not some magic power that only artists possess, it is a vital part of the human story.

Get in touch or book call to talk to us more about how we can help you establish your creative freedom.

Intent

A life of creative freedom

You can spend your life planning, or you can start the journey now. Do you set targets for when you will start doing the things that you really want to do?

Do you make clear, rational goals for yourself to achieve before giving yourself the chance to start living your life as you wish?

The only truth that you need to know is that you are here and this is now. This is the one thing you can rely on life.

Being present in your life, experiencing it in the moment, this is what brings us happiness and health. Everything follows from this one, simple truth:

You are here and this is now.

So what next?

I've just done Dave's Creative Space workshop and I've found it particularly valuable. While I've never struggled with accessing my creative side, Dave has helped me visualise my creative mindset, create a model of that mindset and explore it. I believe I will soon come to experiment with tweaking that model to see how it affects my creative output and mode of working. This was a great experience with real take-home value.

Elements

Simplicity

We do not seek to overload clients with all manner of bells and whistles, techniques, tricks, exercises and practices. This will only serve to overwhelm you and set you up to fail. Our approach is to be led by you, to build a relationship and explore together what it meaningful and what is the path of least resistance to achieving that aim.

Your journey may well be touch at times, but we endeavour to make it enjoyable and rewarding as well.

Small Steps

Kaizen is a Japanese business approach which means "good change." Over time it has come to mean continuous improvement. However although it is most often applied to manufacturing industries its core values and aesthetics are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and philosophy. The principle of refinement through small improvements made through attention to detail, is applied in all kinds of artisan processes and also in the most important process of all: your own personal growth.

Emergence

Helping you find balance, health and happiness in your life is an organic process where new opportunities are allowed to emerge. The process we work through is ever evolving, as you learn to manage this pattern of change you will naturally acquire the skills effect the changes you aspire to.

Emergence takes time, this requires us to be flexible and adaptable to you. Why adopting this client led approach, we respond to your needs.

Metaphor

Metaphor is the language we use to understand and see the world from your perspective. David Nixon has been a developer and practitioner with the Kawa Model since 2007 and Dave Brown uses all manner of metaphor to create pictures for you to build on. Our work is playful, light and humanistic in every way. There is nothing prescribed here. What we do sits somewhere between coaching and therapy.
